The company, which was established last year by Michael Downey, has welcomed John Routledge, who has more than five years of experience working at BNP Paribas.

Downey told Insider: “John brings a wealth of experience in the commercial property sector. Prior to joining Parker Knights, John worked at BNP Paribas for over five years where he achieved his chartered status in 2020. Throughout his term, he gained a wealth of office agency experience along with overseeing several capital market transactions.”

Routledge added: “I am delighted to join Parker Knights, which has a refreshing approach to surveying in the North East market. I am excited to get going and look forward to working with new and existing clients.”

Downey set up Parker Knights in September 2022, with the company predominantly focusing on office transactions, including landlord and tenant representation, and investment sales.

So far in 2023, the business has accounted for 29 per cent of total North East office agency take up.

“It has been a great first year of trading at Parker Knights following the launch last September.

“We have seen several different trends develop over the past 12 months, with the flight to quality even more prevalent, as occupiers focus their attention on ESG driven assets which are rich in amenities with gold standard sustainability credentials”, Downey added.
